Mustang Region



Lower Mustang Trek offers an accessible adventure in Nepal’s Mustang region, combining breathtaking Himalayan scenery with rich Tibetan-influenced culture. The trek takes you through dramatic landscapes, ancient villages, and sacred sites, following peaceful trails along the Kali Gandaki River. Along the way, you’ll pass apple orchards, traditional settlements, and panoramic mountain vistas, making it ideal for moderate hikers seeking a serene Himalayan experience.
The trek typically begins in Jomsom, reachable by a short flight from Pokhara, and lasts 7 to 11 days. Highlights include the historic village of Kagbeni, the sacred Muktinath Temple, and Marpha’s renowned apple farms. The trails are well-marked and accessible, with clear weather from March to May and September to November, offering stunning views of peaks such as Dhaulagiri amid the region’s arid, high-altitude terrain.
Lower Mustang is suitable for beginners and families, providing an authentic cultural and natural experience while preserving the region’s heritage. It is recommended to travel with a licensed guide to ensure safety and respect for local customs.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (823 m / 2,700 ft) – 6–7 hrs
Day 04: Drive Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540 m / 5,052 ft) – 4–5 hrs
Day 05: Trek Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) – 5–6 hrs
Day 06: Trek Ghorepani to Tatopani (1,190 m / 3,904 ft) – 6–7 hrs
Day 07: Trek Tatopani to Marpha (2,650 m / 8,694 ft) – 6–7 hrs
Day 08: Trek Marpha to Tukuche (2,530 m / 8,293 ft) – 5–6 hrs
Day 09: Trek Tukuche to Lete / Kagbeni (2,800 m / 9,186 ft) – 4–5 hrs
Day 10: Trek Lete/Kagbeni to Jomsom (2,700 m / 8,856 ft) – 4–5 hrs
